Thirty-Five New Members Initiated into Hatsukope Men’s Society

Thirty-five new members were recently initiated into the Catholic Men’s Association of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hatsukope, in the Keta-Akatsi Diocese. The initiation ceremony was conducted by members of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Men’s Society, Denu.
Reflecting on the theme: St. Joseph: A Model for Catholic Men, Rev. Fr. Peter Johnson Senoo, Rector of St. Paul’s Minor Seminary, Denu, and Priest-in-Charge of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hatsukope, stated that being a Catholic man is not limited to fathering children, but also demonstrated through love for family, the Church, and the work of God.
He encouraged the new members to remain faithful to God, uphold the teachings of the Church, and be devoted to their families. He urged them to emulate the virtues of St. Joseph, their Patron Saint and Head of the Holy Family—notably his righteousness, faith, love, and integrity.
The newly appointed executives of the Hatsukope branch are: Sir Kt. Bro. Augustine Mensah, 2nd Chaplain; Bro. Christian Kporfor, Chairman; Bro. Simon Kpewu, Vice Chairman; Bro. Jacob Awuku, General Secretary; Bro. Thomas Miheso, Vice Secretary; Bro. Francis Amekudzi, Financial Secretary; Bro. Edmund Amuzu, Treasurer; and Bro. Charles Mensah, Organising Secretary.
Prior to the initiation, the men underwent a spiritual retreat facilitated by Bro. Dominic Boachie, Diocesan Coordinator; Mr. John Lanyoh, Chairman of the St. Anthony of Padua CMS; and Rev. Fr. Senoo.
Bro. Boachie expressed gratitude to Fr. Senoo for his guidance and urged members to adhere to his teachings. In his remarks, Chairman Bro. Christian Kporfor thanked God and the congregation for their support and called for continued prayers for the new members.
A goodwill message was also received from the National Catholic Men’s Society.
From Jacob Awuku, Secretary, CMS
